I have a working S & S on my other PC, so it's almost certainly not Windows-update related. Yes, I have backups, but I'm waiting to restore an MR image until I'm sure there isn't an easier, simpler solution.Īny help sincerely appreciated. Scroll down the Apps & Features screen and select Snipping Tool. Right-click the Start button and select Apps and Features. If that doesn’t work, you must reset the app to its defaults. I've even used a System Restore to go back to a two-day-old Restore Point. Repair and Reset Snip & Sketch Tool Repair the Snipping Tool if you run into issues invoking it even without the Win-Shift-S hotkey. I've scanned with both Defender and Malwarebytes. I've reset the app in Apps and Features, I've uninstalled the app and re-installed it from the MS Store. I've used Brink's tutorial on resetting and re-registering the app. Normal behaviour of S&S is that you see the yellow border for an instant, and then the small control panel emerges onscreen. The yellow border disappears after a few seconds, but no snip has been taken. All I get is a thin yellow border around my whole desktop screen, and no S&S control panel (the small panel that gives all the options - 4 kinds of snips + an exit X). Today, suddenly, it stopped working when I use the Shift-Winkey-S hotkey combination. I've used Snip &Sketch successfully for as long as I've had W10.
